Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Schiavone

Hi Christine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been a lover of all things Disney for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate enough to visit a few times as a child and have the fondest memories and feelings for Disney World. Walking into Magic Kingdom has and always will feel magical.
In college, I took my first trip to Disney World as an adult without my immediate family and knew that it was still for me. I even made Disney World the topic for my Public Speaking class.

Fast forward into my 30’s. I got married and have two wonderful children. I couldn’t wait to share the magic of Disney with my kids. Our first trip to Disney World as a family, my older daughter was barely two years old and I was pregnant with my younger daughter. Since that trip, I have had the blessing of brining my children many more times and they absolutely love it too.

All of my friends and family knew I had a passion for Disney World and quite literally studied it every year. I kept up on all of the happenings, changes, and experiences and was always more than happy to help any of my loved ones feel prepared and ready before their own trips.

Finally, I decided it was time to do this for real! I reached out to a few different travel agencies and really fell in love with Fairytale Journeys Travel. I signed on in 2019 and that’s how I became Fairytale Journeys by Christine.

Since then, I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with countless families to help them create and experience the most magic as possible on their special vacations. I have been named a Top 25 Agent with Fairytale Journeys Travel for two years in a row.

I have expanded my knowledge and training to Universal Destinations and was named the Top Seller of Universal Vacations in 2023 for my Platinum Agency.
I have also taken on training with select major cruise lines and have fallen in love with planning cruises (and taking them!).

I absolutely love my job and take pride in my commitment ensuring other families have amazing vacation experiences. I truly treat everyone’s trip as if it were my own and I believe it shows!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. We all know what 2020 did to the travel industry. It was extremely difficult to be within my first year, trying to grow my small business, all while my industry was essentially closed down.
I was determined to make it work, so I just kept plugging away; sharing my love of Disney with others through social media. I was able to grow a larger following during that time and put effort into getting my name out there as a trusted travel professional.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a travel agent that specializes in Disney Destinations, Universal Destinations, as well as most major cruise lines. I am most proud of being named a Top 25 Agent within my Platinum Level agency for the last two years as well as being named Top Seller of Universal Vacations in 2023.

I have taken on the role of Mentor within my agency and I am now helping new agents to learn the business and be successful too!

I take the most pride out of my unwavering commitment to ensuring that my client’s hard-earned vacation money is used to the fullest. I understand that we all work hard and traveling is something that most of us look forward to each year. I won’t ever take for granted the trust that my client’s put in me to make their trips the best we can get them.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe travel is growing! I think people are seeing more value in experiences over things. More and more I am seeing grandparents and parents purchasing vacations rather than items for Christmas and Birthdays. That makes me so excited!
