My story begins with my deep-rooted passion for style, fashion, and creativity. From a young age, I found immense joy in expressing myself through my personal style and experimenting with different creative ways to approach style. This fascination with fashion only grew stronger as I got older, leading me to pursue a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design at NC A&T University.
I was exposed to various aspects of the fashion industry, from fashion shows to textile design. There is something incredibly fulfilling about transforming ideas into a unique and personalized work of art. I knew I wanted to further enhance my skills and knowledge in the field of fashion. This led me to pursue a master’s from NC State University, where I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of the GLAM program. This program included a study abroad semester in Paris, an experience that completely opened my eyes to the world of luxury.
In Paris, I learned that luxury is not just about material possessions; it is an experience and a feeling. The attention to detail, the impeccable craftsmanship, and the sense of exclusivity that surrounded luxury brands fascinated me. I realized that I wanted to provide that same feeling to those I create for, whether it be through custom designs, event planning, or even personal styling.
Today, I am proud to say that I have turned my passion into a thriving business. I have established myself as a creative professional, specializing in custom shirts and party favor designs, as well as wedding planning, I believe that every individual deserves to experience the luxury of feeling unique, special, and stylish, and I strive to bring that to life through my work.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. As a small business owner and a mother, I have definitely faced my fair share of challenges along the way. Balancing the demands of running a business while also tending to the responsibilities of being a mother has been a constant juggling act.
As a business owner, I have encountered various obstacles and setbacks. Whether it’s dealing with unexpected hurdles or navigating the ever-changing landscape of the fashion industry, there have been times when I felt overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed.
However, despite these challenges, my journey has been incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. Along the way, I have gained a great amount of knowledge and experience, learning valuable lessons that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I have also had the privilege of meeting some amazing people who have been supportive and encouraging throughout my journey.
Ultimately, these challenges have only made me more determined to thrive and continue growing. I am constantly seeking opportunities for growth and improvement, and I am grateful for the valuable lessons I have learned along the way. While there have been challenges, the fulfillment and rewards of pursuing my passion and creating unique experiences for others far outweigh any difficulties I have faced.
