Life & Work with Deanna Holt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Holt.

Hi Deanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2020, during the peak of COVID 19, I was working fewer hours and was presented with an opportunity to take a training course in aesthetics. My background was an Army-trained nurse anesthetist with a doctorate in nursing practice.

I currently work as a civilian contractor at Womack Army Medical Center. I started aesthetics as a side business seeing a few clients each month.

It continued to grow, I added new clients to my list as well as new services. In November 2021, I expanded again on a much larger scale and hired 3 estheticians and 2 medical providers as injectors and now we have become a full-service medical spa.

I still work full-time hours as a CRNA at Womack as well as a mom to 2 beautiful teenage daughters and my husband is also a business owner in Fayetteville.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been incredibly difficult because I had zero background knowledge in business.

Thankfully, my husband is a business owner so he has helped me along the way. Also working another full-time job at the hospital means I am always busy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I started as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2006. In 2009, I completed my Associate’s degree in nursing. In 2011, I finished my bachelor’s degree.

In 2013, I was commissioned into the Army as a first lieutenant and begin anesthesia residency. In 2016, I graduated with my Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

In 2020, I completed 2 separate training courses for aesthetics and opened SkinSavvy Aesthetics.

What does success mean to you?
Success is continuing on towards your goals despite failure, unexpected changes, or fear.
