Life & Work with E Edwards of Ez on the i Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to E Edwards.

Hi E, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’d call it fate I started photography when I was assisting a friend with his clothing apparel business as we took pictures for marketing. We would search around the city for the best landscapes for photoshoot backdrops and capture the best poses on the models to match the brand’s identity.

I’ve always been an artistic person, I used to draw in grade school, I was a rapper as well, and so photography took on a different creative outlet for me. Eventually, it evolved into me taking my own photos for my own personal use and eventually being brave enough to start taking on clients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been a journey, to say the least. Nothing in life is easy and the challenges make the rewards much sweeter. I have been traveling a little outside my hometown in order to expand my network, and like most things, Covid slowed the process a little bit.

But now, as travel becomes easier to travel again, you’ll see me much more around the state capturing the best of the world. In the words of one of my favorite rappers J. Cole, “There’s beauty in the struggle” I plan to capture it all.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a photographer. What separates me from the rest is that I am very attentive to detail, it’s a passion for me. I am only satisfied when my clients are as well.

My proudest moment was when a local artist used my photos in a publication they were being interviewed for. The online comments were so positive and that affirmed that I was indeed great at my passion.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I learned is that I am valuable. I understand how to meet my client’s expectations and execute their vision. I’ve learned time and time again if you’re good at something make sure your peers respect that you’re a business and not just a handout.
