Life & Work with Keaonda Edmundson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keaonda Edmundson.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of my struggles with being a small business owner is getting turned down a lot. I’ve tried putting my products in multiple beauty supply stores around Raleigh and have been turned down a lot. But earlier this year I was able to partner with Black Friday Market located in Downtown Raleigh it is a Black-owned store that allows artisans and multiple businesses to sell their brand. It’s an awesome partnership for the community and small business owners. Another challenge is income being able to have a proper marketing budget and budget for supplies. I literally will spend my last when it comes to backing my products.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a mail carrier by day. I’m also a natural hair specialist and have my natural hair licensure. I’m definitely proud of being able to start my business and looking at how far I’ve come and how much my business has grown.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
My most important lesson is never given up keep trying until something works out for you because it’s bound to happen. Think outside the box and no matter what, keep grinding.
