Hi Maria Jose, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After working in politics and civic engagement for over 10 plus years I was mentally and emotionally spent. Combined with a late diagnoses of AUDHD at the age of 43, I just couldn’t bring myself to continue working in that sphere. My best friend encouraged me to start a cleaning business in 2023. I knew nothing about running a business but I knew how to clean. I took a leap of faith and here we are 3 years later.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Finding the right ingredients and products to use plus equipment was challenging to begin with. Ive gone through 5 vacuum cleaners in 3 years. Ensuring I found cleaners that worked at the same pace and quality I wanted to maintain was also a challenge. Meeting demand is one thing but maintaining quality of service is everything for me. I’d rather my business grow slowly and ensure we don’t lose the quality or reputation I have built.

When I’m not cleaning houses I’m usually planning my next hiking adventure or where in the world I would like to see. I enjoy learning about different cultures, eating their cuisine, and learning about their history. I enjoy languages and can read Arabic.
