Life & Work with Noel Scott White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noel Scott White.

Noel Scott White

Hi Noel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a musician, recording engineer, and stage technician. I currently work for Carrie Underwood.

From 2010-2020, I worked for Sting

2001-2010 Herbie Hancock

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My job requirers me to leave home more than I care to, Covid was a major blow. The entertainment industry was the first to shut down and the last to reopen.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
When I’m recording and producing an artist whether a household name or an unknown artist, I dedicate the same amount of attention to the project. As a drummer, I can take a solo artist and immediately bring their sound into full band experience.

25 years touring with some of the most respected artists in the world has taught me how to manage the stresses of touring while being able to pull off all the production requirements needed for a show to happen in an environment where it is calm and open to a creative and relaxed performance.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Annapolis, MD, I was a fun-loving kid who loved playing on the Chesapeake Bay. Always attracted to music and the arts. I’ve always been a very outgoing person who loves being around other creative people. I am a songwriter myself, but have always gotten more satisfaction helping other people bring their musical ideas into reality. Cooking, Woodworking, even mowing the yard always gives me a sense of fulfillment. Something about the instant gratification of any creative task completed is what keeps me going.
