Life & Work with R Langloss of Rocky mount south side

Today we’d like to introduce you to R Langloss.

Hi R, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started out as a home, brewer on the back patio and in the garage of my home. Friends encourage me to expand, running out of room at home and everybody loved the beer. So I increased the size of my garage to a warehouse at 500 South Wesleyan Blvd. in an industrial Park in Rocky Mount. It’s a place for people to connect with each other friends family great conversation. It’s probably more of a community hangout. We are veteran owned and veteran operated and try to have a safe place for all those that have served to come join us. We do a lot with community nonprofits and fundraisers. We work with sleep in heavenly peace the special Olympics, Meals on Wheels, friends of Rocky Mount, animals and many more. It’s a very friendly place. We offer craft beer made here at the taproom wines cider, nonalcoholic beverages and a meeting room or we might call it. An event center where birthday parties can be held Christmas parties, family reunions we’ve done a lot of family reunions it really blends into our mission statement.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business is never a smooth road. There’s been a lot of ups and downs on the way a real learning curve. Most surprisingly was all the paperwork and taxes. Being out on the south side of town in more of an industrial park has presented some challenges. Also, we’ve expanded to a large patio and green area behind the building. We’re not really in an area where people think of going to for entertainment, but we have lots of space and a great group of people that come by. The people who find us love us and keep coming back. We’re very lucky that way. We’re very pet friendly and kid friendly. Finding a marketing plan that reaches out to everybody in Rocky Mount has been one of our challenges with both of us coming from different business arenas.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
NC Beer Factory is a retirement gig for both of us. We were both professional another industries before we came to the taproom. Local beer with mostly local ingredients made right here in our building in south Rocky Mount. We are community based giving back to our community providing a place for people to meet and make new friends. I think we’re most proud of our vibe, welcoming, friendly and a great place to hang out.

What matters most to you? Why?
Offering a safe, friendly and welcoming place for people to gather. It doesn’t matter if you’re coming from after work after yardwork or the ball field we consider ourselves a very casual welcoming place that has good craft beer. We are veteran owned, and veteran operated. We offer a place for the community to come gather for birthday parties, family reunions, or just friends.
