Life & Work with Stefy Gallardo of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefy Gallardo.

Hi Stefy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

My name is Stefy Gallardo — I’m a Mexican-American mariachi singer and a proud creative artist rooted deeply in my heritage. šŸ‡²šŸ‡½āœØ

My culture is more than where I come from; it’s a part of who I am and the inspiration behind everything I create. Through music, art, fashion, and storytelling, I strive to celebrate my roots, embrace my true self, and represent my culture with pride.

My goal is to use my voice and creativity to inspire others, uplift the Latino community, and remind the next generation here in North Carolina that they can proudly embrace where they come from while creating a path of their own.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth ride. There are people who doubt you, especially when they’re not used to seeing someone from a small town express themselves so freely through art and creativity.

But I’ve learned that you can’t let other people’s doubts define what you’re capable of. I truly believe that if you wake up every day and get to do what you love, you’ve already won.

And that’s what I do. Every day, I wake up grateful and excited knowing I get to create, express myself, celebrate my culture, and turn the things I love into art.

For me, it’s never been about fitting into a mold. It’s about staying true to who I am, embracing my Mexican-American roots, and showing others—especially within the Latino community here in North Carolina—that there is beauty in being yourself, being creative, and having the courage to share your story.

I’m proud of where I come from, proud of what I create, and most importantly, grateful that I get to wake up every day and keep creating. ā¤ļøšŸ‡²šŸ‡½āœØ

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I specialize in mariachi music, but my creativity goes far beyond music. Art is a huge part of who I am, and I love expressing myself through different creative mediums.

I’m also a model and regularly collaborate on photography and creative shoots, using fashion, storytelling, and visual art to celebrate my Mexican-American heritage. šŸ‡²šŸ‡½āœØ

Whether I’m singing mariachi, stepping in front of the camera, or helping bring a creative vision to life, my goal is always the same: to express who I am, celebrate my culture, and inspire others to embrace their own identity through art.

For me, art is more than something I create—it’s a way of telling my story.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Personally, I listen to a lot of podcasts and follow different blogs and creators who inspire me. I’m especially drawn to people like Benulus and other creative individuals whose journeys I can relate to.

I love surrounding myself with people who think outside the box, take risks, embrace who they are, and aren’t afraid to create something different. Seeing other creatives pursue their passions reminds me to keep pushing myself, keep learning, and continue creating in my own way.

A lot of my inspiration comes from simply seeing people who are unapologetically themselves—and that’s something I want to continue being, too. ✨
