Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomaiyah Reeves.

Hi Thomaiyah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, I have always been attracted to music. I attended chorus, band, and art classes in elementary school. While learning the notes to songs and instruments during classes, I learned a lot faster than my peers, and that’s when I knew that I had a natural connection to music. Throughout middle school, I joined a drama club and started writing poetry. I found peace in expressing my emotions through words and rhymes. When I felt like there was no one to express myself to, I believed I could speak to myself and heal myself through poetry. My older brother spent his free time creating raps independently and always asked me for my opinion. He had a recording studio in his room, encouraging me to make recording music. In high school, I started to perform at local events and talent shows; since then, I have mastered my sound and used my music to uplift and relate to others by creating healing music.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Pursuing music has been one of the most complex decisions in my life. In the society we live in today, following your dreams can bring a lot of adversity. I was in college when I chose to pursue my music career fully. I had no idea why I was attending college; I just knew that I wanted to create music and that this was my soul calling. Challenges have always been present. From coming up with the money for studio sessions to learning how to record the music myself with no teacher present and only YouTube videos.

Thanks. What else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an independent Music Artist, Holistic Healer, and Entrepreneur. I create music in hopes of connecting with my listeners so they know that they are not going through hardships alone. My intention for my music is to heal and inspire my listeners to come into their greatness. I also have a holistic business that promotes health and wellness mentally, physically, and spiritually.

What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see myself owning my own building and offering all of my healing services. I also see myself impacting millions of people with my music.
