Thomas G. Archie (Chef_boy_archie) was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Like many talented chefs, Thomas had developed an interest in cooking while in college, learning different fantastic cooking tricks and skills that he has polished over the years to a professional level.
He has more than 20 years of experience working in different kitchens and making magic while preparing hundreds of different meals with exquisite culinary skills and professionalism.
Thomas’ connection with food is beyond just the chemistry of fire and seasonings. He is interested in the cultural influence of food and how it brings people together. He is passionate about making meals that not only taste great but are memorable.
With an educational background in engineering and business, Thomas has decided to pursue his interest in preparing foods following the best culinary standards.
He started his culinary journey working in a fast-food restaurant and preparing meals that match, and oftentimes, surpass the expectations of customers. He improved his skills over the years, working in different restaurants and learning new culinary procedures and techniques that led him to become a professional.
He then went on to open his culinary service called Archie Culinary Solutions. The business is focused on providing professional and superior cooking services to customers and providing them with a personalized treatment that ensures they feel very positive about themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the challenges that Thomas has experienced along his journey is starting his business, Archie Culinary Solutions LLC, away from his hometown and network. He is originally from Detroit, MI, and launched his business in Raleigh, NC. Rebuilding his network of resources and re-establishing his reputable brand have been his primary focus.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
People eat with their eyes. When I create dishes I compare them to an artist with a paintbrush and a blank canvas. I take pride in what I do and if it’s not right, I will not send it out. In my private dining business, I curate personal menus with my clients. This ensures that the expectations are met based on the desires or themes of the event. It also allows me to explore different dishes and cooking styles outside of my normal cadence. It’s a win for both parties.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I genuinely love what I do. I am not motivated by monetary gain. My dream is for those who love great-tasting food to be able and have access to experience my cooking. When I cannot be there physically, I want pallet pleasing presence to be there via my spices and seasonings. My goal is to be in kitchen cabinets all over the world.
