Today we’d like to introduce you to Tomeria Whitehead.
Hi Tomeria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started from a city girl from Camden, NJ who grew up in a rough area but that wasn’t for long. Through my high school years I’ve always had the energy and passion of creativity I just never knew what I wanted to exactly do with it. I went to college in South Carolina at Benedict College and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology minor chem. Through my college career I still loved being creative other than loving science I started my own hair brand my Sophomore Year in 2014 called HairLyfer Boutique. I sold customized fur ball keychains , fur slides , phone cases , glasses , and hair. Everything beauty I had it for the girls on campus, later down the line I wanted to rebrand myself and just stick to hair which were more of my popular products selling. I loved it. After graduating I moved to the Raleigh-Durham,NC area to find my way after school applying to Nursing while working and trying to get back to my brand. I found myself loving creating, marketing and coming up with ideas. I then started getting more into creating graphics and creating content. I started up my second brand called Cre8tologist marketing and designs where I provide graphics , filming and edits , as well brand start up. As a creator specialist I thought it would be a perfect touch with the love I have between science and creating.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road with entrepreneurship and if anyway says it has well teach me the tricks lol. Knowing your way through business and finding ways to keep afloat is challenging daily. Everyday you will not have the motivation but you need the discipline. You’re going to have good days, sometimes you’ll have slow months but you have to keep striving forward to know that the day of winning will come back around again.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
