Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Adams.
Hi Aaron, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve always had a passion for modeling, fashion, taking pictures, and creating content on social media. The way social media has expanded over the years makes it exciting to advocate, promote, and express yourself how you see fit. I’m able to be my own creative director, present myself to the world, connect with brands, showcase outfits, pose for cameras, create videos, and link my favorite music, all while branding myself.
Growing up in North Carolina, it is sometimes easy to assimilate into the culture around you. Over the years I have learned to live in my truth, express myself, and find strength in my individuality. I am a 27-year-old biracial gay male, my boyfriend is 39, he’s Caucasian, and he’s a police officer. We live in the Raleigh area. I’m currently studying Business Administration, while also working in healthcare and as an upcoming content creator on Instagram.
My content on Instagram is tailored toward men’s fashion, modeling, and the LGBTQ community. The goal is to create a personal brand that is unique to me, build a reputation, and represent beauty in men.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding my niche on Instagram, defining my content, and gaining support and recognition has been and still is a major obstacle I face. Gaining support and recognition is a slow process. I have learned to keep posting my content regardless of how many people engage with it. It’s what makes me happy and I love putting in the work to create. I will never let the number of likes or followers I have discourage me from continuing to create and express myself.
Another major obstacle I face is finding the time to work on my content. Working full-time, taking classes, and maintaining a relationship takes priority. Whenever I have the chance to dress up and get out, I take that opportunity to snap some cool photos for my content. It also helps that I have an amazing boyfriend that is willing to take pictures for me.
Body image has always been a struggle of mine also. I find it important to surround yourself with people who love and support you. Find your tribe of people who encourage and make you feel beautiful. Beauty is not about having a small body. Beauty is in your personality, how you carry yourself, and how you make others feel.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being a content creator on Instagram means that I produce digital media that aligns with my personal brand through Instagram. My personal brand is the persona and perception that others take away when they visit my page or meet me in person. This would be modeling, and fashion specifically for men and the LGBTQ community. My simplistic and affordable style sets me apart from other major fashion and modeling influencers.
“A man who is in tune with his style wears the clothes, he doesn’t let them wear him. This is because he effectively brings to life his beauty and confidence as a result of what he wears.” -by seadmin on styleeducator.com
Any big plans?
Plans for the future include finishing school with a degree in Business Administration. After that, I plan on obtaining a degree in Healthcare Administration.
Plans for the future also include progressing in my relationship with my boyfriend. By creating content on Instagram, I hope to eventually gain the interest of modeling/talent agencies, sponsors, clothing lines, and other name brands.
