Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Wade.
Hi Allison, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My career started in Pittsburgh PA where I was part of the start up of Case specific nutrition. We quickly grew within the city with over 6 locations. I was ready to make a change within my career and I moved to Raleigh, NC two years ago to set up a branch office within Case Specific Nutrition. I arrived here excited for the challenge to create something similar. I started networking with local gyms, doctor offices, PT clinics, and chiropractors to build a solid referral group in the area. I find most people are surprised their insurance will cover visits to meet with a dietitian and after spreading the word of the office opening I had so many individuals, referrals, and corporate wellness groups excited to use/offer our services. I even started offering services to a local high school looking to provide nutritional guidance to their athletes looking to take their performance to the next level. We built a fueling station within the school, provided educational sessions to teams, and even blasted nutrition messaging across their wellness center and locker rooms. As my career continued to grow I brought on an additional dietitian, Hilary, to the team to help with the growing demand of Case Specific Nutrition. She has been a great asset to the team and is one of the most knowledgable, passionate dietitians I know.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle was moving to a new area and trying to grow/build/connect with not only patients but other like minded businesses in the area. I tried to make connections with other entrepreneurs in the area who had a similar vision and goals and would be engaged to pass clients back and forth to create a full health care model.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Nutrition private practice. I’m also employed by NC State and work with men’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, and volleyball.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
