Meet Amber Andresen of Bloom Beauty Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Andresen.

Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always wanted to be in the beauty industry. But life happened and I ended up an accountant.
A few years ago my husband said to me “tell me something I don’t know about you” I said I don’t like my job. I need to do something else. I couldn’t quit my job so I started a side hustle selling makeup online. It sparked an interest in being a makeup artist which lead me to esthetics school. While in school I realized I didn’t want to do makeup but I loved helping people with their skin.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road!
I thought when I became an esthetician all my friends would support me and I’d have full books in no time. That did not happen. I had to pivot. I live in a small town and there are several estheticians in my area. Building clientele mostly comes from word of mouth. I had to get out there and introduce myself, allow people to get to know me. It’s been a process but I’ve learned so much along the way. I’ve also met so many people that have become friends.
I thank God for the process and I trust His timing. It’s all coming together as it should.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I love helping people develop a skincare routine and seeing their skin heal and transform. I’ve met so many people who have no idea how to care for their skin. They use a random product because someone they know does and it helped them so they try it but it doesn’t work for them so they give up. Or it’s so overwhelming they don’t start. I also found that so many people I talk to have sensitive or sensitized skin that doing anything to their skin scared them and they thought they were just stuck with their skin the way it was.
This led me to specialize in sensitive and sensitized skin. I mainly use Hale & Hush products. They specialize in sensitive & sensitized skin, majority of their products are gluten free, vegan and Leaping Bunny certified. As someone with celiac’s and autoimmune diseases this is really important to me.
I offer custom facials, I don’t really do protocols, because our skin changes and so are facial should too.
I also offer dermaplaning, light chemical peels, microneedling, back treatments and body waxing.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Trusting God’s timing. He has a plan. I need to work hard and do my part but I know He is in control of it all.

I listen to my clients. I add or remove services or steps in services to better serve them. The time they spend with me is their “me time” I want them to enjoy it. I want to improve them skin, mind, body.. the whole person.

I want my clients to walk out my door feeling better than they did when they walked in.
