Southern Porch Designs was inspired by a mom in Texas who brought charm and seasonal style to front porches. I wanted to bring that same warmth to Raleigh, where the concept was new. With a love for photography and design, I saw an opportunity to blend my creativity with a service that helps busy families make their homes festive without the time or hassle of decorating themselves. Southern Porch Designs brings my passion for design to life, creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for families to enjoy all season long.
WHen I mentioned to my daughter I wanted to start this business, she was immediately into it and helped me get started from going to the farm to choose pumpkins and design the first few homes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a smooth and exciting transition launching Southern Porch Designs and sharing my love for seasonal design with clients across Raleigh. The community response has been heartwarming, and I’m grateful to see how many families appreciate having festive, beautifully decorated porches for fall. While the journey has been mostly seamless, I did encounter one challenge when another business attempted to reach out to my clients through social media.

However, this experience only reinforced my commitment to providing a personalized, high-quality service that stands out. It’s been rewarding to combine creativity and professionalism in a way that truly serves my clients, and I look forward to continuing to bring festive porch transformations to Raleigh homes!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing most people might not know about me is that I originally started in photography not just for the art but for the stories it captures. Growing up, I loved flipping through old family albums, feeling connected to moments I hadn’t been there to see. This love for storytelling through imagery led me to wedding and motherhood photography, where I can create lasting memories for others. Another fun surprise? I have a knack for DIY home projects, which inspired Southern Porch Designs, blending my love for design and creativity with a hands-on approach to making spaces feel inviting and festive.
