Meet Andrecia Hinton of Charlotte, Nc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrecia Hinton.

Hi Andrecia , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of resilience, perseverance, and undeniable grace. The odds were stacked against me from early on — I got pregnant with my first child during my senior year of high school. I had two kids by the age of 19, and three by 24. I had been accepted into South Carolina State University, but instead of going off to college, I chose to stay and raise my children. Life moved fast — by 27, I already had 12 mugshots. I was living recklessly, making decisions out of pain, survival, and a lack of direction.

Even when the world counted me out, God had a greater plan. I fought my way back from mistakes and setbacks, determined to turn my story into something greater. Today, even though I was born and raised in Raleigh, Nc and gave it 30 years, I am currently residing in Charlotte, Nc. I am a wife, a mother of three, an actress, comedian, entrepreneur, and a woman boldly walking in her calling to reach others in an unorthodox way. I’ve starred in major stage productions, appeared in true crime TV series, and built my own cosmetics brand, Vain by Andrecia.

My past doesn’t define me — it prepared me. And I’m living proof that no matter how far gone you feel, you can still rise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I’ve been in and out of jail — never prison — but still caught up in a cycle that kept setting me back. I would get jobs, but either lose them or quit them, and that instability led to evictions more than once. At one point, I was at such a low that I had to send my kids to live with their dads for four months while I tried to get my life back on track. I struggled to stay in a job longer than two years. I moved from place to place, always looking for something new, running from the feeling of being stuck, and afraid to accept real commitment.

But through it all, every stumble and every restart taught me something. Every failure made me stronger. And every time I thought it was the end, God showed me it was just the beginning.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I wear a few different hats, but at the core of everything I do is storytelling and empowerment. I’m an actress, comedian, entrepreneur, and founder of my cosmetics brand, Vain by Andrecia. As an actress, I’ve starred in stage productions, been featured in true crime TV shows like Snapped and Fatal Attraction, and appeared in films that gave me a platform to show my range and authenticity. On the comedy stage, I’m known as “Vain” — a bold, raw, and relatable voice that turns pain into laughter and reminds people not to take life too seriously.

Through my brand, Vain by Andrecia, I empower women to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. It’s more than just cosmetics — it’s about owning your story and walking in your truth, no matter where you come from.

I’m most proud of the fact that I never gave up on myself, even when life tried to break me. What sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to be real. I’m transparent about my past, my struggles, and my faith. I don’t just entertain people — I inspire them. I show up fully as myself, flaws and all, and that realness is what connects me to people in a way that can’t be manufactured.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m actually gearing up to move to Georgia in June to really take my career to the next level. I know that’s where a lot of opportunities are waiting for me, and I’m stepping out on faith. One of my biggest dreams — and goals — is to act alongside my favorite movie star, Denzel Washington. I’m moving fast because, from what I heard, he said he’s only got five films left, and I’m determined to make sure I’m in at least one of them!

I’m looking forward to expanding my acting career, growing my brand, and continuing to inspire others with my story. The best is truly yet to come.
