Meet Ashley De Verteuil of Salisbury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley De Verteuil.

Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to North Carolina 3.5 years ago. I was newly licensed and had two toddlers 2 and under. I wanted to work my business to give me the flexibility to be there for my kids.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been very challenging to run my business. Between working a full-time job and personal life events that has happened, a lot of things shifted that made it difficult to expand my practice full-time and sustain it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been practicing social work for over 15 years. I am a bilingual Spanish therapist and therefore that sets me apart because there is such a need for Spanish speaking therapists here in this area of North Carolina. I primarily work with adults, mostly people of color who struggle with depression, anxiety, life stressors and relationship issues. I am most proud of the impact I’ve had on my clients and the progress I see and what they share has changed for them since being in therapy with me.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband has been my cheerleader from day one, always believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. My kids are the motivation and the reason I show up everyday to do the work that I do.
