Meet Ashley Haith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Haith.

Ashley Haith

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My passion and love for makeup began when I was just a young girl. I grew up playing basketball and I was that pretty tomboy girl that loves to tap into her feminine side. That was always my favorite characteristic about myself! I remember specifically when I was in high school it was time for prom, and I was so excited to get my makeup done at the MAC counter in the mall. As I was getting my makeup done, I asked the makeup artist so many questions about what products were being used on my face, what brushes were being used to accomplish the look, and what skincare products were used to prep my skin. After I got my makeup done, my mom bought me some makeup brushes so I can practice at home. I remember that so vividly because I feel like ever since then my desire to continue to learn has never died. As I got older, I continued on and went to grad school to become an occupational therapist, which I love to do as well, and along the way, I continue to pour deeper into my passion, which is makeup and beauty. A few years later, I proudly created Eyedore’ Me Beauty Therapy as my business name and shortly after that, I registered my business name with the North Carolina Secretary of State, where I officially got my LLC. Currently, to this day, I provide Makeup services for all occasions on ALL skin types of ALL colors and ALL ages! I provide skin care services, private one-on-one classes for make-up application, and eyebrow artistry. My goal is to continue to grow my brand into a platform where I can pour into other future estheticians and makeup artists. My mission is to provide my services within my community and even surrounding areas so that my clientele can feel and look their best. I want to establish lifelong relationships with my clientele and build that rapport with them. I just want them to know that they are all beautiful and unique in their own way and that makeup is truly an accessory to the natural, God-given beauty that they already have! My goal is to help instill confidence in my clients. My motto is when you look good, you feel good!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road the entire time as being a business owner. I want to list out some things that have been struggle points for me.

1) Slow booking seasons can make it hard

2) Balancing between managing business and working my job

3) Having a baby in the midst of running my business

4) Finding the right and best location to conduct business

5) Understanding that booked and busy isn’t always the most peaceful. You have to find a balance!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
In my city, my clients know me for accomplishing very clean and flawless makeup looks. Whether it be a very soft glam look or a very high fashion, bold glam look, my clients always tell me that I execute whatever they ask me to do. I am also known for the type of vibe and ambiance that I create for my clients when they step into my makeup salon. My goal is to always make my clients feel like they are at home, that they can relax and be peaceful. Good energy and good vibes are always in my place of business.

My favorite looks to create are indeed, the soft glams, the full bold glams, and very neutral glams for people that don’t wear makeup at all. As a makeup artist, I would say that my strength is my range of creative looks that I can create based on my clients’ requests. Another strength of mine is my ability to color-match any and every skin tone of all ages and skin types.

Some things that I am proud of that I have accomplished within my makeup career thus far:

– several large wedding parties

– participation in bridal exposition and modeling events

– Fashion show participation

– invitation to participate in large, televised events

– makeup event collaboration with other well-known makeup artists

– mortuary makeup to honor the deceased and the family of the deceased

– being able to continually expand my professional makeup portfolio

– private one-on-one body makeup sessions to help clients cover scars to help them feel more confident

What I am most proud of is not only how my experience and creative works are expanding, but I am proud of the fact that I am able to use my business platform to provide community outreach and service. For the year of 2023, I said that my goal was to participate in a few community service events. This year I participated in a career fair at a local middle school in Greensboro, I provided hands-on activities for an all-female youth mentor group at a church, and I also participated in an elementary school mentor group program where I taught young girls about skin care. As a make-up artist and business owner, I am proud that I am able to step outside of my box and look beyond booking appointments and making money. I am able to realize that my beauty business is bigger than just the revenue. It’s about how I can use my business to provide a positive impact on my local community. For Me, that’s what leaves the most lasting impression. This is what makes me feel like sets me apart from every other makeup artist in my area.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory out of many is when my dad used to take me to amusement parks. He would always let me bring along my childhood, best friends and we would literally have a ball all day long.
