Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Benjamin Eskra.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Benjamin Eskra, MD. I am a board-certified plastic surgeon. I got my undergraduate degree from Cornell University, then completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, one of the nation’s oldest medical schools. I then did general surgery training at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware, followed by plastic surgery training at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, under the guidance of the famed plastic surgeon Ian Jackson, MD. I initially began practice in 2005 in the Philadelphia area, then moved my practice to Eastern North Carolina in 2009, where I am now very proud to call home. I specialize in breast and body contouring and am passionate about providing top-notch surgical care that has been highly personalized for each individual patient, taking into consideration each person’s specific concerns and goals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to a successful plastic surgery practice on Eastern North Carolina has had some challenges along the way. When I first moved my practice to Eastern NC from Pennsylvania, we were under the umbrella of Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. While working for a hospital system offers the resources of a large organization, it can provide a lot of challenges to growth, which makes it hard to keep up with the latest in plastic surgery technology. The decision to break away from the hospital and take our practice solo in the middle of a global pandemic provided many challenges, but the rewards of being not only the leading aesthetic provider in Eastern NC but also the only independent practice offering insurance-covered breast reduction and breast reconstruction in the area has been extremely fulfilling!
As you know, we’re big fans of Eskra Plastic Surgery. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
We’ve introduced new technology to our practice, The Tetra CoolPeel. It’s the Deka SmartXide Tetra CO2 by Cartessa. A two-in-one technology that delivers real transformative results. One of the most advanced CO2 laser technologies available. It has the resurfacing of the CO2RE with the added CoolPeel, a minimal downtime peel.
The Tetra CO2 laser treats:
- Brown Spots
- Fine Lines
- Pigment
- Scars, including Acne Scars

- Wrinkles
The Cartessa CoolPeel® improves:
- The appearance of fine lines
- Sun damage
- Pore size
- Skin texture
Any big plans?
Our future plans for the practice are to continue bringing cutting-edge technologies and treatments to address the growing aesthetic needs of our patients. Eskra Plastic Surgery was the first in North Carolina to offer the ground-breaking new EMFACE non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment from BTL. It’s the only non-surgical treatment that actually tightens muscle to lift the face and brow from the makers of the equally revolutionary non-surgical body sculpting device EMSCULPT NEO, which both reduces fat and builds muscle making the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, thighs, and arms look leaner and more sculpted. At Eskra Plastic Surgery, we are committed to bringing only the best treatments to care for our patients.
