Meet Brittany Mangum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Mangum.

Hi Brittany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a multi-fashion, beauty & aesthetic brand! I provide services such as makeup, fashion styling, hair services, esthetician services, social media marketing, and branding! I’ve been in the beauty industry for 20 years! I love making women and men feel great about their appearance & inner self. I worked hard for a decade to build my name in the beauty, spa and salon industry!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I learned from my lessons and watched how other business owners ran their businesses. I observed the bad and didn’t make the same mistakes and took in all the good!

I’ve also learned that everyone does not have the same passion and drive as you. You can’t bring everyone with you no matter how big your heart is. Staying focused on your mission is key!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I started when I was 14 years old working in a local day spa and from there I started taking an interest in make-up. After that, I worked in a popular hair salon and started assisting, doing fashion styling, and doing make-up for models, photoshoots, and weddings!

The rest is history, I was about to work with a famous designer Christian Cowan and I wasn’t able to relocate but it motivated me to take my brand seriously, and I’ve been booking clients left & right ever since! The who in this story is my two beautiful babies, my son 13-year-old Chase & my 2-year-old daughter, Chloè!

They are what makes this journey all worth it. They both own parts of my company as well because I want to hand down my company to them!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Every since I was a child, I’ve been very very passionate about anything I do! I wake up and I breathe my crafts! It makes me happy daily to know that I get to do what I love doing!

That feeling is amazing!! I’ve dreamed of being who I am as a Black-woman since I can remember! I instill these same values into my children, family, and friends!
