Meet Caroline Chambers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Chambers.

Hi Caroline, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

I’m from Winston-Salem originally, went to UNC-Chapel Hill where I met my husband. We wound up in San Diego because he was stationed there as a Navy SEAL. I started a catering company there called Cucina Coronado because I wanted to work in food but I wanted flexibility around his insane schedule. From there I launched a career as a professional recipe developer, writing recipes for brands and magazines, and restaurants. I wrote a cookbook titled “Just Married” in 2018 and now publish recipes through Instagram and my paid newsletter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Is there such thing as a smooth road in entrepreneurship?! Never! There are times when I am grooving and feeling so confident on my path, and then there are hiccups that set me back. Constantly! Right now, I am struggling to share all of my different products in a clear and concise way with my followers. I have an online cooking school, paid newsletter, and I write weekly meal plans. It can be hard to market so many different things consistently and make sure people are clear about the products I provide.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am a recipe developer and cookbook author. I published my first cookbook, Just Married in 2018 with Chronicle Books. I now teach online cooking classes, and I turned a failed cookbook pitch into a paid newsletter called “What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking”. Subscribers receive a new recipe in their inbox every single Sunday morning that will take less than 1 hour to cook and requires minimal ingredients.

I am known for helping people who don’t love to cook, but *want* to cook, cook easy and accessible recipes.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?

Going to Bald Head Island, NC and cooking huge shrimp boils with my entire family. Just got back from BHI last month and I miss it so much!
