Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Louis.
Hi Charlotte, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Wow – that question never gets simpler. The truth of the matter is that I had been running away from SenterME for a very long time. But with resistance comes tough lessons. Self-love and emotional wellness mean the same thing to me and the experiences, more so the tough lessons, that have flowed through me on this journey have deepened my appreciation and gratitude for emotional wellness. Severe depression, anxiety, abusive relationships, people-pleasing, you name it, I have probably at least a moderate to expert-level experience with it. Until one day I decided that enough was enough and I wanted to know a different life, I wanted to know the real me.
So I embarked on a journey of self-love, personal development, spirituality, and everything in between and my past didn’t matter, I was determined to learn to love every part of myself and challenge myself to change to operate from a space of wellness. Previously, my business was all about haircare and my community could see that something in my life was changing because the ongoing transformation that was taking place within me was so inspiring to me that it was permeating through my business. Eventually, little by little I began shifting things to self-care, then self-love, and now creating a clear path to emotional wellness and stress relief for women professionals right here in the RDU.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Funny story: So when I finally surrendered to my purpose as a force for emotional wellness & stress relief for women, I had this ‘Ah-ha!’ moment and thought to myself ‘I know my purpose, I know what I am here to do, and now everything in my life is going to flow so much easier!’ That is so funny to me now because maybe I needed that level of optimism sprinkled with naiveness to make it through that year but I could not have been further from the truth!
Needless to say, the road has been very much rocky, and not just rocky but there have been curves, speed bumps, detours, and steep hills along the way. The biggest struggle that I have experienced is getting so caught up in this big audacious vision of SenterME 20 years from now that instead of focusing on where I am and moving from this space, I would try to take these unrealistically huge steps toward the vision and there is just no way around the baby steps, the relationship building, the community building, the networking, strategic planning, and it all takes time that is required. SenterME has taught me more about patience than anything in my life and I have two children (lol).
But everything is always happening for your highest good even if it doesn’t feel like it, position yourself to learn and expand from every emotion to circumstance and you will succeed.
As you know, we’re big fans of SenterME. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Know your values, who you are, and what you bring to the table first and foremost. This helps you find alignment better with a potential mentor/advisor and if there is no alignment at all you don’t waste time. Do your pre-meeting prep, research as much as you can on the person you are meeting with and do your fair share of stalking them before the meeting so that you can speak to their interests and how you can support them. In a networking event, this is funny but very useful, act natural (lol) be yourself, and allow energy to do the work for you.
In other words, energy attracts like energy and if you are being authentic then you’ll attract authenticity and energy that aligns with your highest good. Will this always be the case? Of course, not. But it is the best way to approach networking. Nothing inauthentic is sustainable so keep it real.
