Meet Donna Nealy of Esteem, A Total Transformation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Nealy.

Hi Donna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Esteem, A Total Transformation was started as a ministry initially. While going to school at night for my undergrad and grad degrees I gained a significant amount of weight. I was absolutely miserable. I knew there had to be other women in the same situation. School, home, husband, children, working full time gave no place for me. As stated it started as ministry at my church. I eventually branched out, removed the ministry and became a non-profit organization. It has not been easy. However, when the ministry/business is a call to serve you continue. This is my purpose. To see individuals learn to love themselves and know their worth is the reward.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has not been a smooth road. Struggles from finding a working Board of Directors to people not understand the investment involved in being healthy and allowing knowledgeable, educated help in the pursuit of health.

The real struggle is helping the community understand that alternative holistic health is really above our health/sick care. But we have been made to believe that the medical system is all we need.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit tax exempt non-profit health and wellness organization. We have been doing business for 20+ years in the health industry. Services offered are personal training, nutrition consulting, life coaching, wellness coaching. Our niche is to aid in chronic illness reversal, prevention and treatment holistically. We are known for servicing all 10 dimensions of wellness. If we can’t serve you we have and extensive vetted resource list which all clients have access.

We are most proud of the results our clients have received while working with us. That is the reward we strive which we strive. Our motto is “Love yourself”.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Greensboro is very clickish and separated. We are trying to do better with that aspect but it is hard. As our did research for a grant I found that Greensboro is one of the most educated cities. However, Greensboro is one of the sickest.
