Today we’d like to introduce you to Elliott Quinton.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been a reader and, in turn, wanted to create my own stories. Being an author has always been one of my dreams. I never knew exactly what I wanted to write until I started reading political thrillers from authors such as Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, and David Baldacci. Also, my experiences as a father greatly influenced my writing topics. I didn’t learn of my skill of poetry until heartbreak and adverse fatherhood experiences. Not only did I start writing, I also started my For Fathers Podcast. Creating a safe space for fathers to express and relate to other fathers. Elliott Quinton L.L.C commenced as a form of therapy by conveying the details of my pain through non-fictional and fictional short stories, podcasting, poetry, and my Vehement blog. Now, it’s turned into my business in hopes to connect with others with similar experiences to let them know that they’re not alone. Finding my hope in Jesus Christ and my salvation after these challenging times, I’m able to add my faith to my literature and spread His good news. Elliott Quinton L.L.C has now grown to offering ghostwriting services for books, short stories, poems, bios, about pages, introductions, and more! I also sell paraphernalia on my elliottquinton.com page. All services I offer can be found on my page. I dove deep into the church and serve in the Teens Ministry. I am currently a middle school P.E. teacher and basketball coach, walking in the purpose God has for me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest struggles have been promoting myself and the mental blockage that comes with depression and being overwhelmed. Although poetry was easy to write, and podcasting was just as therapeutic, writing was almost impossible. I’m not the biggest social media person, so learning how to promote has been a struggle, but I’m getting there.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Authentic, Raw, and Transparent literature that comes from the heart in hopes to connect with others and help them understand that they’re not alone. I specialize in creative expression and ghostwriting for others. I’m most proud of getting through the dark times and my ability to be open enough to speak on it, as well as my relationship with Christ, which is the only reason I made it through. My authenticity is what sets me apart, and me leaning on God who leads and guides me.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
My advice would be don’t let the disruption that follows your intention derail you from the dream, purpose, and ideas you have. Never give up, focus on being intentional, and ignore distraction. I also encourage all to seek a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
