Meet Faith Villegas of A Faithful Mark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Villegas.

Hi Faith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
So I’ve always had a passion for event planning. For as far back as I can remember I was always coming up with crazy themes for my birthday parties, whether it was a character-themed party from my favorite TV show or a carnival theme party with games and themed food. As a kid, I would also build Pinterest boards for my dream wedding. And as I got older, nothing really changed. I still build parties and Wedding boards on Pinterest, I still throw big elaborate parties.

I’ve always been told I was a great party planner, but it wasn’t until my father passed away in September 2021 and I had to prepare for my own wedding through the loss that I really embraced that event planning may be a skill of mine. I decided to really step into the idea of event and wedding planning because I knew I’ve always loved it and knew it was a passion of mine so it would be fun for me, but also I wanted to do it to serve other people, and to help relieve there stresses. But ultimately, I wanted to do this because my dad would’ve always wanted me to do what made me happy and I want to make him proud.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Just like anything in life, there are ups and downs, twists and turns, nails and bumps. Starting off in any business it’s always hard because you have to find your demographic and your ground to be able to take off. And not getting an immediate reaction when you first start your business can be discouraging.

Also not receiving the support you thought you’d get because people don’t understand what you’re doing or the reason behind it, or people don’t see the benefit from it it may shoot it down. But being able to understand that if you keep pushing yourself and working hard, you’re going to reap the benefits of the work you’re sewing. And also not everyone’s opinion matters.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about A Faithful Mark?
A Faithful Mark is an event and wedding planning company. We specialize in weddings and birthday parties.

However, we are certified to plan more than just birthday parties. We offer full-service packages, partial-service packages, and day-of coordination. We are a faith-based company, but we are all-inclusive. What sets us apart from other companies is that we thrive in helping our community and serving others. It’s not about a paycheck for us. It’s about helping others and bringing people’s dreams to life.

We value the little moments in life so it is our goal to amplify the importance of these important moments in the lives of others. What I am most proud of is our overall business. To own my own business at such a young age of 20 has been unbelievable. I am so blessed to have had this opportunity and to be able to build it from the ground up. What I want people to know is that not only are you getting above and beyond service when you book with A Faithful Mark, but you are getting the love and the community and the support that comes with it.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is patience.

Nothing will happen overnight. It is a process. You have to trust it. As a believer in God, we have to understand that in the time we wait for a door to open, we must prioritize and utilize the time in the hallway, the waiting period, to prepare for what’s to come, the blessings we’re going to receive.
