Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby Gallo & Genevieve Young.
Hi Gabby & Genevieve, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Two Tired Moms is run by two sister in laws, Gabby & Genevieve! Gabby married Genevieve’s brother and we immediately became best friends. Gabby has 3 children and Genevieve has 2 children. We have known each other for 13 years and only became tired once the kids starting popping up. From the time we have known each other, our lives have always been intertwined. Our kids go to the same school, we work out at the same gym, and we also both had the same work from home healthcare jobs. About 2 years ago, we moved onto the same street as each other which has caused our families to become even closer. We both had a baby within 4 months of each other and while we were in the trenches of motherhood, (queue the Two Tired Moms) we decided it would be beneficial to add on more responsibilities and start cricutting to make shirts, stickers, and paper products. Gabby’s uncle then bought her a 1 needle embroidery machine that she quickly outgrew. After 6 months with the 1 needle, she bought a 15 needle embroidery machine. Genevieve moved from cricutting to DTF printing. She has outgrown 3 different DTF printers and is now able to print much larger, high quality prints. We started this together as a hobby but our business has grown exponentially. We do the merchandise for multiple businesses and schools in Cabarrus and Rowan County. Tutti’s Italian Deli, Mckenzie Jades Formal Wear Store, Northwest Cabarrus Middle School, Odell Elementary School, and Carolina Balloon Bar, are a few of the many schools and businesses we have had the opportunity to work with! Genevieve and Gabby are inseparable; wherever one is, you will always find the other!
Not sure if this is appropriate to add into the article, but Genevieve & I have a running joke that we only have 1 brain cell each and they only work when we are together!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We surprisingly have not had too many issues along the way. A few minute problems such as purchasing/ supply issues. The market in our area is also fairly saturated so we have to really market ourselves in order to get our name public and gaining people’s trust that our product is good quality. The other challenge is trying to work from home with young children! We both end up working very late into the night (1/2am) just to get our orders finished uninterrupted.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a printing and embroidery company! We specialize in custom designs (very Mom/ tired mom life driven) as well as bulk orders for businesses!
We are known for our goofiness that embodies our brand. We are no different than any other mother out there who is struggling and just trying to make it through. We want people to find humor in our designs but also make them sentimental. We are also known for our name- everyone knows and recognizes our name now because of how funny it is!
We are most proud of how far we have come as best friends literally just trying to stay afloat. We are proud that we have pushed so hard that public schools, retail stores, and communities want to use us as their go to for merchandise. We are proud of ourselves for making a business from nothing that has become so large it can keep us home with our kids and make the money we need to support our families.
What sets us apart from other businesses is our communication and thoughtfulness that goes towards each customer. Every order we get is special because it means something to someone and we want to make sure that is relayed though special notes, text messages & the follow ups with customers. Our story also sets us apart because we are regular moms struggling and we have proven that if we can do it so can anyone else. Doing both embroidery and printing sets us apart because we can do absolutely any design whether it is stitches or ink!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Integrity has been the major characteristic that has contributed to our success.
No matter how difficult it is to stay up until 2 am trying to finish large orders, we will always get it done. There’s no cutting corners, there is no failing no matter how tough things get.
