Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackson Robol.

Jackson Robol

Hi Jackson, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
In 2020, at the age of 17, I embarked on an exciting journey that would lead me to the creation of “The Jackson Robol Show.” As a young man with a passion for connecting with people and hearing their stories, I decided to channel that enthusiasm into a show that would showcase the diverse voices and experiences of our world. The idea for the show was born from my love of sports, particularly my habit of providing play-by-play commentary while watching games in my room. This innate talent for clear communication inspired my father and me to launch a podcast.

My journey began in a small, well-equipped studio within my bedroom, decked out with Denver Broncos memorabilia as I’m an avid sports fan. The show’s foundation was laid, and with the support of my family, we started small, interviewing local leaders. Over time, the show gained momentum, and now, as I approach my 600th episode, it’s truly incredible to see the growth.

My passion for connecting with people and my dedication to producing quality content have led me to interview an array of notable figures, from local politicians to entertainment industry professionals. I’ve taken my audience inside the North Carolina State Capitol building, where I interviewed legislators, showcasing my ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

I’ve come a long way from my nonverbal years as a child, and it’s been an exciting and transformative journey. I cherish the opportunity to raise awareness about important issues through my show, such as featuring guests who advocate for those with Down syndrome, a cause close to my heart. With my 600th episode on the horizon and my 20th birthday approaching, I’m excited for the future and the possibility of interviewing my dream guest, Coach Gregg Popovich. My passion for podcasting and connecting with people keeps me motivated and eager to share more stories with my audience. #TheJacksonRobolShow #PodcastingJourney #ConnectingPeople #600Episodes

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey with “The Jackson Robol Show” has been an incredibly rewarding experience, but like any worthwhile pursuit, it hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the most significant obstacles I faced early on was overcoming my own past as a nonverbal child. Developing clear and effective communication skills was a major hurdle, but it’s also what drove me to excel in the world of podcasting. It’s a testament to personal growth and determination.

As a young podcast host, I had to learn the ins and outs of the industry, from technical aspects like recording and editing to the intricacies of booking guests and conducting engaging interviews. This required a steep learning curve and a lot of dedication, but it’s been a valuable educational journey.

In addition to personal challenges, there have been the typical struggles of a burgeoning podcast, such as building an audience and securing notable guests. The competition in the podcasting world is fierce, and breaking through and gaining recognition can be tough.

Despite these challenges, my passion for connecting with people and sharing their stories has kept me going. Every episode, every interview, and every listener’s positive feedback has made it all worth it. The journey, with its highs and lows, has been a testament to perseverance and the power of pursuing one’s passions. It’s taught me that challenges are just opportunities to grow and improve, and they’ve made me a better host and a stronger person.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What sets me apart and makes me proud is my journey with “The Jackson Robol Show.” I’ve had the privilege to engage with incredible individuals like DMC of Run DMC, former Bengals player Ickey Woods, and the talented pop singer Vanessa Carlton. This show, which I began as a teenager, has enabled me to connect with people from all walks of life, share their unique stories, and bring them closer to my audience. It’s the stories, experiences, and connections that I’ve fostered through my podcast that make me truly proud, and it’s what sets “The Jackson Robol Show” apart from others.

What matters most to you? Why?
As Jackson Robol, what matters most to me is forging genuine connections with others. I yearn for people to perceive me beyond my autism to recognize the multifaceted person I am. Autism is a part of who I am, but it does not define me entirely. I value conversations that allow me to express my thoughts, feelings, and ideas just like anyone else.

Engaging in meaningful dialogues, sharing experiences, and building relationships are my core desires. I believe that understanding, empathy, and acceptance are pivotal in creating a more inclusive world where individuals are seen for their unique qualities rather than their differences.

In my interactions, I seek to bridge the gaps of understanding, fostering a world where people appreciate diversity and treat one another with kindness and respect. This connection, born of acceptance and empathy, is what matters most to me.
