Meet Jennifer Michalski of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Michalski.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jennifer Michalski and my story sort of all fell together , I love gardening and playing in the dirt. Growing herbs and making teas was a passion of mine for most of my adult life and serving a warm beverage for friends and family always felt comforting and appreciated. I had a spiritual awakening about 10 years ago and started working with my spiritual guides . They helped guide me to start working with crystals and making jewelry that would help others with their own spiritual healing this is how Cynthia’s Light came to life. Cynthia’s Light is named after my mother for her unconditional love , compassion and guiding light. From making bracelets and necklaces , I ventured into creating one of a kind tea strainers , which helped bring mindful intention into the spiritual practice of drinking teas. In 2021 I became very ill and was hospitalized 6 times with lung and heart problems. I started researching herbal medicinal remedies for my ailments and was guided to go back to school and enrolled in a healing arts program at SWIHA South Western Institute for Healing Arts in their Healing Botanicals and Earth Ceremonies degree. While there I learned that herbs and botanical teas can not only help with physical ailments but also mental and spiritual. This is when North Star Healing Apothecary was born. I started creating blends with my spiritual team that would encourage internal conversations with your inner child and shadow self that are amazing. I also have a blend that no only help with breathing but also to release what is no longer serving are highest good. I grow most of the herbs myself and dry them but their are some I purchase through ethically sourced companies because everything has an energy and vibration that affects the tea in a positive or negative aspect. I also have 2 different ceremonial cacaos, one is original and the other is a spiced cacao that are excellent for helping open and heal the heart chakra. I have a website cynthiaslight.com and also sell at Barn and Beach and Garden Center in Southport Nc at 4890 Long Beach Road

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was bumpy and full of potholes in the beginning with being sick and frustrated and trial and errors it was not until I had an epiphany and instead of asking why is this happening or why is this not working I started asking myself what is this trying to show me , what can I learn from this ? I started seeing things through a new perception giving me a better perspective and the perseverance to keep showing up for myself and what I wanted to share with others to help with their healing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in jewelry and teas. I create one of a kind bracelets, key chains, pendulums and tea strainers for specific intents such as grounding, protecting and healing specific chakras and emotions. I am known as the tea lady lol because of my tea strainers and teas. I grow most of the herbs from seed nurturing every herb with unconditional love and gratitude and harvest and dry them. The ones I cannot I purchase from ethical sourced companies. I make blends that help with sleep such as Dream A Little Dream tea that is lavender, peppermint and marshmallow root and ones that help with breathing and releasing energy that no longer serves us that is a blend of mullein leaf, elderberry, marshmallow root and some other ingredients but I have to say my favorite is my Inner Child tea that is a blend of peach, mango, rose , hibiscus, lemon , orange and strawberry mint. This tea is an invitation to hold space for our inner child, I set a time once a week to have tea with my inner child , clearing my mind and holding space for what ever may come up in this mindful meditation for healing and growth. My grandson Ben has taken an interest in blending teas as well and has his own blend called Ben’s Sunset Chai that is a lemon chai the smell is intoxicating and the taste is wonderful.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
One book that was a huge benefit during my first spiritual awakening to help peel back the layers of the ego and what was social ingrained guiding me to my higher self was the Journey Home by Lee Carroll and Kryon.
