Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Rossi.
Hi Jill, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Megan and Jill are visionary creatives with a shared passion for design. Their journey began in a furniture showroom, where their individual styles effortlessly clicked, creating a unique spark that hinted at something extraordinary. Recognizing the potential of their combined talents, they founded Dolce Design Co. in 2022, an independent interior design studio. Since then, they’ve been transforming homes and lives across the Triangle with their signature blend of innovation, warmth, and high-touch design, creating luxurious, meaningful spaces for their clients.
Their love for inspired design started long before Dolce. Both Megan and Jill hold degrees in interior design from accredited North Carolina universities. Jill further honed her craft with an MFA in furniture design from the Rhode Island School of Design and has shared her expertise as a professor at several universities. Together, they’re passionate about introducing clients to the transformative power of exceptional design and its ability to enhance every aspect of life.
Outside of the studio, Megan and Jill are all about savoring life’s simple joys. They both cherish time spent with their families and their fur babies, who are constant sources of joy and inspiration. Whether it’s a cozy evening at home or a weekend adventure, their lives are filled with the warmth and connection they strive to bring into every space they design. They also share a love for travel and adventure, drawing fresh ideas from the places they explore and weaving those inspirations into their work. For Megan and Jill, life is about creating beautiful moments—both at home and beyond—and helping their clients do the same.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve been truly fortunate to work with incredible clients right from the start. Their trust in us to transform their homes and be part of shaping their most personal spaces is something we’re deeply grateful for. Along the way, there have been plenty of learning moments—each one an opportunity to grow and refine our craft. With the support of a fantastic team and the patience and good nature of our clients, those challenges have only made us stronger.
Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come since we first opened our doors. Every step of the journey has been shaped by the wonderful people we’ve had the privilege to work with, and we owe so much of our success to their faith in what we do. We’re excited to continue creating spaces that feel as special and unique as the people who call them home.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Jill’s creative vision bridges the functional and conceptual, seamlessly blending familiar archetypes with unexpected materials or uses across her favorite media—slipcast ceramics, collage, and wood. Her clean, minimal furniture designs feature subtle fluidity, while her conceptual artwork, often incorporating found objects, conveys hidden meanings or double entendres that invite reflection. This thoughtful approach carries into her interior design, where she skillfully layers color, pattern, texture, and scale, ensuring each piece serves as both a striking individual element and part of a cohesive whole. Jill’s spaces are intentionally immersive, filled with playful “peek-a-boo” moments that surprise and delight while emphasizing the beauty and materiality of every detail.
Megan is an expert in saturated, moody, classically inspired design. She brings a whimsical and enchanted sensibility to all of her projects, sparing no detail to make a room story-book perfect. She masterfully weaves rich color, imagery, and silhouettes into her designs so they look both timeless and fresh at once. When she is in her element, it is like watching a ballet dancer expertly choreographing every moment into a perfect composition. Her commitment to her vision is unparalleled—if she can’t find the perfect piece to complete a space, she doesn’t stop there; she often takes it upon herself to bring her exquisite ideas to life, crafting custom creations that elevate her designs to extraordinary.
We’re known for our client-focused approach and creating highly personalized, high-end designs. Because we specialize in whole-home projects, we take the time to deeply understand each client’s lifestyle, tastes, and vision to ensure every design feels uniquely theirs. Our clients often tell us they appreciate the open, approachable, and transparent atmosphere we bring to the process. We make it a priority to communicate clearly and guide them through every phase, so they always feel informed, confident, and excited about the transformation.
I think what we are most proud of is being able to do work we are truly passionate about in a positive environment with wonderful colleagues and the most gracious clientele in the world. We love what we do and we are so grateful to be able to bring that into people’s lives and create spaces that allow them to truly be their best selves.
What sets us apart from other design firms is a combination of our distinctive aesthetic, deep knowledge, originality, and versatility. Perhaps most importantly, we genuinely listen to our clients and prioritize building real relationships with them. Our work is never transactional—it’s deeply personal, and we take that responsibility to heart. Our goal is to create design solutions that exceed our clients’ imaginations while feeling perfectly aligned with who they are and how they live.
What makes you happy?
Sunshine, the beach, travel, laughing babies, pets, fires in the fireplace, chocolate, the sounds of nature, golden hour, goodberry’s, bold patterns, saturated colors, snuggles, a long bath, massages, essential oils, cheese, freshly baked bread, family, olde worlde things, thrifting, tea, peonies and hydrangeas, stories. I think most of these things speak for themselves, but one unusual thing that I love to do is visit the grocery store whenever I travel to a foreign country. You can learn so much about a culture by the foods they eat, the variety, and even the quantity. It’s like a sneak peek inside a local’s lifestyle. Not to mention, there are so many good foods out there to discover!
