Meet Julie Shimmel of Thrive Skin + Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Shimmel.

Hi Julie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started 12 years ago as a Primary Care office, focusing on all things skin. Over the years, our business evolved and is now focused on Cosmetic and Aesthetic skin care, offering treatments such as injectables, lasers, facials, wellness and more. It has been a journey over the year, but on that has been both exhilarating and rewarding. We have worked hard over the years to build the brand, and cultivate a culture that meets the needs and outcomes of both clients and team members.

My journey into the business started many years ago. I began my career working in cosmetics, and it has come full circle after a career in corporate retail development. I wanted my “2nd Act” to be a marriage of my love of business and passion for this industry. It is a blessing to be able to do something you love every single day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road. We’ve had to evolve over the years as the business and industry have, and changed our business model . And as many business owners know- change isn’t always easy. As our town has grown, we’ve had to grow with it, understanding what our clients want and needs as well as the industry landscape. We have had to take some calculated risks over the years, and thankfully that has paid off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a family business that specializes in Cosmetic and Aesthetic skin services. We focus on injectables such as Botox, Dermal Fillers, Platlet Rich Fibrin (PRF), in addition to lasers treatments, microneedling, facials, and more. We have been in Holly Springs for 12 years now, and are proud to be part of this amazing community.
