Hi Kim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hush is the manifestation of my dream and vision to bring intentional and specialized hair, lash and brow services to men and women in our community. With an open concept treatment space, the team collaborates and works together with a mindset of human connection, artistry, and presence with each and every guest.

We are honored to have been voted Raleighs Best Hair Salon and Raleighs Best Salon 2025 – Midtown Magazine in just under two years!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, if only! Building Hush has been an adventure—think less of a smooth highway and more of a scenic route with a few unexpected detours (and maybe a pothole or two). Like any business, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges, from navigating the world of SBA loans to ensuring every detail of our luxury experience lives up to our high standards. But honestly, wouldn’t have it any other way.

Every hurdle has made me stronger, and our team has absolutely crushed it—turning obstacles into opportunities and keeping our clients looking and feeling amazing along the way. Winning Best Salon in Midtown this year was just the cherry on top! At the end of the day, we’re all about delivering top-tier services with warmth, authenticity, and a little bit of fun.

Hush is a full service salon specializing in custom lived in color, blonding, extensions, as well as brow and lash services.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m always looking for ways to grow—both in business and personally—so I love diving into motivational books and resources that keep me inspired. Right now, I’m reading Let Them by Mel Robbins, which is all about letting go of control, focusing on what you can change, and freeing yourself from unnecessary stress. It’s been a great reminder to stay in my lane and keep building Hush with confidence.

I also love podcasts like The Ed Mylett Show and On Purpose with Jay Shetty—both are packed with insights from high achievers across different industries. And of course, I’m always looking for new books and resources to keep me motivated and at my best!
