Today we’d like to introduce you to LaJamiea Lee.

LaJamiea Lee

Hi LaJamiea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Well, the vision of me being an esthetician started back in 2009 when I could not seem to clear my skin. I was deployed to Iraq in 2008. The high heat and mixed with sand played a major role in me developing and being diagnosed with acne after deployment. I was already self-conscious about my face due to being in a car accident in 2004, where glass shattered in the left side of my face, which left permanent scars.

Once I left the Army back in 2018, I finished school and attained my business degrees. Once complete in 2020, I was on the hunt for an esthetician school or a technical college that offered the program. I was unsuccessful for two years. It was not until I found an Esthetics school here in Fayetteville, Montia Shardae School of Esthetics, where my vision was starting to come to life. I started the night Esthetics program in January 2023 and finished in July 2023. I graduated and received my Esthetics license the following month.

Me being in Esthetics school was the hardest part of my life. I also have a full-time job. I’m a Human Resources Specialist for the Special Operations Recruiting Battalion on Fort Liberty, NC. I felt as if I pushed myself over the edge. I have a family. I missed all of my kids’ school and sports events. I was not able to spend quality time with my husband. I didn’t get proper rest. I was stressed. But I’m thankful for my family. My husband, mother, and my best friend were my support system during this difficult time. They stepped in during my absence. I was so exhausted. However, I was not going to let that stop or deter me from my dreams.

Through all of this, I started by business, LoveLee Esthetics. I now specialize in facials and skincare treatments. I’ve been an esthetician for almost seven months now and I have clientele.

I do not regret anything on this esthetics journey!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since opening LoveLee Esthetics, it has not been a smooth road. I started with no clientele. The only people who knew of me were my clients from school. Thankfully, they all followed me to my business, but it wasn’t enough. So, gaining clientele was slow at first, but now, I’m highly satisfied.

Content was a struggle at first because I wasn’t active on all the social media platforms. Also, when I look back at my content on social media when I first started… IT SUCKED, lol! But I have practiced and practiced. Now, I love gathering and putting content together on social media. That’s where a lot of my clientele came from—social media. Especially TikTok.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
LoveLee Esthetics mission statement is “Our mission is dedicated to encourage all of our clients to explore and enhance their natural beauty, starting with natural skincare. We strive to provide excellent services and to educate each client while they enjoy all that we have to offer”.

LoveLee Esthetics is for those who struggles with skincare. I struggled with my skincare and that’s why I went to school and started LoveLee Esthetics. I want to teach people how to correct and take care of their skin, which is why I specialize in facials and skincare treatments. I want to educate people about the “proper” way to take care of their skin.

I have a deep passion for skincare. There are many people that struggle with confidence and self-esteem because they feel as if they are ugly. Some people feel that way because they can’t fix the skin on their face. And that’s because they don’t know how. Your face is the first thing someone sees, and they will remember it. I want to teach people that skincare is just as important as keeping your hair, nails, and lashes maintained, if not more important!
