Meet Manasa of raleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manasa.

Hi Manasa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey in 2013 as an origami artist, creating handmade flower baskets and exploring the beauty of recycled and paper art. What started as a hobby soon grew into a passion — I crafted paper garlands and even made 108 large paper flowers for a non-profit event. Through these experiences, I realized how much I enjoyed transforming spaces with creativity and purpose.

This led me to explore event decoration, where I initially volunteered for community and non-profit events such as 5K runs and cultural celebrations. In 2016, I officially launched Geetika Events to bring my artistic vision to life on a larger scale.

Over the years, I’ve specialized in eco-friendly decorations — using sustainable materials and reusable designs to help protect our environment while making every event unique and memorable. Today, Geetika Events proudly serves clients across a wide range of celebrations, including weddings, receptions, housewarmings, baby showers, and birthdays,

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I started, I didn’t have anyone to guide me — everything was a learning experience. I had to figure out where to source good-quality materials, how to price my work, how to understand each client’s needs, and how to communicate my creative vision clearly.

Managing expenses while trying to deliver beautiful setups was also challenging in the beginning. What really helped me along the way were YouTube and Instagram — I learned so much from watching tutorials, following other decorators, and getting inspired by creative trends from around the world.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love creating decorations that turn ordinary spaces into memorable experiences. Every event is special, and I take pride in designing themes that reflect the personality and emotions behind each celebration. At Geetika Events, I specialize in eco-friendly and custom-designed decorations, especially for Indian weddings, receptions, housewarmings, baby showers, and birthdays. I use sustainable materials wherever possible — combining creativity with care for the environment.

What makes me most proud is the joy and appreciation I receive from my clients. When they share positive feedback or recommend me to their friends and family, it means the world to me. That trust and word-of-mouth support are the biggest rewards.

What truly sets me apart is my personal touch — I’m deeply involved in every detail, from design planning to final setup, ensuring every event feels unique, warm, and thoughtfully crafted

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a curious learner and very creative. I loved making things with my hands — drawing, crafting, and experimenting with colors and designs. I’ve always been close to nature, and that connection still inspires many of my eco-friendly decoration ideas today.

I also love taking up new challenges and trying new things. Whether it’s learning a new art form or experimenting with different materials, I’ve always enjoyed pushing myself to create something unique.
