Meet Maria Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Williams.

Hi Maria, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I began my career making skincare products back in 2020. My youngest son had eczema really bad, and I was tired of using the steroid creams. I decided to research ingredients and make him a body butter to help soothe and clear his skin. Before I knew it was taking formulation classes and studying ingredients. I created him a body butter that had his eczema clearing up within a week; by week 3 you couldn’t even tell he had eczema anymore. 

I decided to use what I learned to make and sell body butters. I loved everything skincare, so I started making products to help people who was suffering from acne and hyperpigmentation. My business took off more than I expected it to. So, I decided to combine my passion for skincare and helping others by becoming a licensed Esthetician/ Full Acne Specialist. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! I launched my business in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic all while being a mom of 3 in school. It was tough; things were shutting down, opening back up then shutting down again. I had to push my classes back because they were only operating smaller classes, and they filled quickly. I can’t tell you how many times the postal service lost or damaged my packages that were going out. It was hard my first year in business. I spent a lot of money and time trying to perfect my craft. Now 3 years later, I had to take a break from making products to focus on my demand for providing services. I haven’t quite found the balance in managing everything, but I’m working on it. I hope to start back with products really soon. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed Esthetician and Acne Specialist. My services range from facials to body treatments such as back facials, Vajacials, full body waxing. For skin types dry, oily, acne, combination, and sensitive. I specialize in facial treatments tailored to fit individual client’s needs. I’m most known for my Corrective Skincare Treatments and my 24K Ultimate Glow Facial. 

I’m most proud of myself, my passion, my drive, and desire to never stop learning. I’m always looking for new ways to educate myself on dealing with skin conditions and treatments. 

What sets me apart from others is I’m one of the only Estheticians in my area that focuses solely on corrective skincare. I thoroughly educate my client on ingredients, techniques, and how to overall take better care of their skin. I love helping others restore their confidence by fixing one of their biggest insecurities. 

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is defined by the clients I help; from preteens to adults, I love seeing the smile on their face once they see their progress and how much their skin has changed.
