Meet Mark Butler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Butler.

Hi Mark, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My business started in 2019 when shortly after I received the news of the tragic death of my father. He was hit by a vehicle when he was walking home and was severed in half by a drunk driver chase with the Tennessee State Trooper. His name was Darryl E. Butler.

His drive for being out there with the community and helping others move in Tennessee and his working at the Volunteer Ministry Center set me my calling which was to start my own junk removal and a moving company called Citymoves413 which the 413 is for Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him that gives me the strength.”

I started off small and still like to consider myself as a small company but I just started off moving items out of my pickup truck to building myself up and purchasing my 1st box truck and a 20-foot enclosed trailer. I server the Triangle area and will travel locally all across the Carolinas. I was born in New York City and grew up and spent most of My life here in Raleigh NC.

I graduated from Enloe High School and went to Liberty University where I have a Degree in Counseling. I absolutely love what I do. I love meeting people and completing daily goals that may be challenging to other.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Death of my father. Both of my wife’s grandparents passed. Paternity issues with my oldest child after 17 years.

Challenges with marriage for 3 months while all this was going on, went to therapy and got it back on track 11years celebrating and counting.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Citymoves413 we are a moving company that specializes in moving, junk removal service, assembly and disassembly of furniture, transporting box items skids, and crates to residential and commercial facilities.

I’m most proud of citymoves413 ability to provide an experience and a customer service drive that sets us apart. I’m so excited and proud of all our reviews on Google Thumbtack, Task Rabbit, furniture companies, storage facilities, and luxury apartments around our great city.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The best advice I can give when started out is don’t give up.

There will be slow times but if you believe in what you believe in will work don’t give up and it will all work out.
