Meet Megan Sangimino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Sangimino.

Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was in college, I competed on the track and field team as a javelin thrower. I started taking yoga classes to work on flexibility and mobility as an athlete and fell in love with the practice.

When I graduated from college, I dove deeper into other spiritual practices of meditation and breathwork – eventually signing up for my first yoga teacher training when I moved to Washington, DC. I graduated with a civil engineering degree and took a job as a project manager when I moved, teaching yoga in the early mornings and evenings.

As a new yoga teacher, I taught everywhere and anywhere I could and fell in love with teaching students to connect more deeply with themselves. I found that, while a lot of students come to yoga for physical reasons such as strength and flexibility, they walk out of the room with a deeper sense of mindfulness and connection to their bodies.

In addition to falling in love with teaching, I fell in love with the technical side of running a yoga ‘side hustle’ and started mentoring other yoga teachers on how to grow their own businesses.

I grew my coaching business in 2020 to something I could sustain full-time and made the move to Raleigh, NC to start fresh and dive deeper into my entrepreneurial journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road and absolutely nothing like what I expected it to be.

I think being an entrepreneur is extremely glamorized on social media when in reality there are a lot of self-doubts associated with building something from the ground up. In the first 6 months or so of taking my business full-time, I probably thought about quitting every other week.

Especially coming from the engineering field where I had a lot more job security, striking out on my own as an entrepreneur was incredibly scary (and still is)!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our organization helps yoga teachers and yoga professionals build and scale their businesses.

My team and I help yoga teachers with their branding, marketing, service suite, and building the confidence to dive into business in a sustainable way. We are passionate about ethical marketing and sales practices and put a lot of time into learning how we can support our clients in the most holistic way possible.

I’m proud that we have such a high rate of client retention – a lot of the yoga teachers we work with coming back over and over again to get support from us as their business grows!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to learn about our services is on my website www.megsangimino.com and I love connecting with everyone on Instagram as well @meg_sangimino.
