Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Kollar.
Hi Natalie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a Trainer for fifteen years, beginning in college at East Carolina University where I earned my B.S. in Health and Fitness Specialist. Over the years, I worked in corporate gyms, a non-profit organization, and various supplemental roles while constantly relocating as the spouse of an Active-Duty Marine.
While living in Beaufort, South Carolina, a friend who had just had a baby asked if I would train her in her home. With minimal equipment, I packed my car and showed up at 5:00 a.m., navigating feedings and postpartum moments along the way. I loved being able to support her in that season of life.
When we learned we were moving back home to eastern North Carolina, the idea of becoming a Mobile Personal Trainer began to take shape. I purchased a trailer and started marketing before we moved. By the time we arrived in North Carolina, my schedule was full starting the very next day traveling to my client’s homes and communities to deliver joyful workouts.
Since then, my primary clientele has been stay-at-home moms, work-from-home moms, and busy professionals. I have been so blessed with the best clients.
I’ve always dreamed of having a studio of my own, and the Lord graciously placed the perfect downtown location in my path. This March, I will be opening a private studio exclusively for personal training clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are so many roads you travel on as a business owner, a professional, and simply as a human being. You just hope they remain parallel. I can confidently say the roads will always be bumpy, but they’ve felt smooth through my trust in the Lord. He has faithfully carried me through every challenge I’ve faced.
As a business owner, one struggle has been increasing pricing. As a professional, I’ve wrestled with imposter syndrome—wondering if I’m truly good enough for my beautiful clients. I quiet those moments of doubt through prayer.
I am incredibly fortunate for the support system around me—my friendships, my family, my networks and even my clientele. Their belief in me has meant more than any credential I have earned.
As you know, we’re big fans of NOLA Life Athletics, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Health and Fitness Specialist with a deep desire to help people feel confident in how they move and nourish their bodies.
What I truly believe I specialize in is making people feel happy and loved while they exercise. I love creating an environment where clients laugh, feel seen, and genuinely enjoy working out.
To be a personal trainer, you need more than a love for the body or a passion for training yourself. What sets me apart is my genuine desire to ensure people have a good experience while they’re working toward their goals. At times, that means sacrificing my own time and energy—much like you would for your children. I strive to lead in a servant-hearted way, guiding people to become the best version of themselves.
More than anything, I’m most proud of how loved I believe my clients feel.
I’m not sure there’s much more I want people to know about my brand other than this: I have never had a single day where I didn’t look forward to going to work.
If you’re searching for a personal trainer-or even if you already have one-make sure they’re passionate about you, not just the profession. Skill and knowledge matter, but so does genuine care. You deserve someone who is invested in your growth, your confidence, and your well-being—not just your reps and sets.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
One book that has deeply shaped me is The Servant by James C. Hunter. It’s an outstanding work on servant leadership and one I’ve returned to multiple times—something I rarely do with books.
Of course, the Holy Bible keeps me grounded, focused, and honest in every season of life and business.
The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian helps me stay aligned at home—with my husband, my children, and the responsibilities of family life.
I’m also completely inspired by Earl Nightingale, a motivational speaker largely known in the 1950s. His recording, The Strangest Secret, is my favorite and one I return to often for perspective and drive.
