Meet Nick Quintero of Workweek Lunch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Quintero.

Nick Quintero

Hi Nick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello! My name is Nick Quintero and I own Meal Prep on Fleek, Easy Meal Prep Recipes, and Workweek Lunch—brands that have revolutionized the way people approach meal preparation. Since embarking on my own meal prep journey over nine years ago, I’ve been dedicated to teaching and inspiring others to meal prep through comprehensive guides, videos, courses, and resources.

In 2015, I co-founded Meal Prep on Fleek, a brand that I later took full ownership of in 2022 after successfully licensing it to a CPG manufacturer. My journey continued as I started the Instagram account Easy Meal Prep Recipes in 2017, which now commands an audience of over a million across various platforms, thanks to engaging content and practical, under-45-minute recipes.

I acquired Workweek Lunch in 2023, an established meal planning platform that further expanded my reach and impact in the meal prep community.

Through my social media channels, which collectively reach millions each month, I strive to make meal prep accessible, enjoyable, and part of a sustainable lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for quick recipe ideas or a full meal planning system, I’m here to support your journey toward healthier eating habits without compromising on flavor or time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey of building and growing Meal Prep on Fleek, Easy Meal Prep Recipes, and Workweek Lunch has definitely been an adventure, with its fair share of challenges. Having never been in the media space before, I had to learn the ins and outs through a lot of trial and error.

For example, if you spend any amount of time on social media, you’ll probably see 100 videos about “how to grow a social media audience” or “how to take your video views from 200 to 2 million.” Growth and engagement are always moving targets, and I’ve experienced seasons of both growth and decline. Overcoming the frustration has been a battle of will in itself.

Another challenge, or learning opportunity as I like to refer to them, includes navigating business partnerships, especially when it came to negotiating the buyout of a business partner and managing complex royalty agreements. These steps were crucial for steering the future direction and ensuring the sustainability of the businesses. Both were profitable, but I can’t help but wonder if things would have been different if I had more experience or different advisors in my corner.

The process of brand licensing, particularly for Meal Prep on Fleek with a consumer packaged goods manufacturer, involved navigating complex legal and business considerations. This required careful planning to maintain the brand’s integrity while managing the financial aspects of royalty deals.

Overall, while the road has had its bumps, these challenges have also been incredible opportunities for growth, helping refine business and improving my the ability to navigate the complexities of the digital and culinary worlds. I still have a long way to go…

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I faced several challenges that shaped who I am today. I was raised by a single mom in a poor neighborhood, where I was often made fun of because of my weight. This led to a lot of insecurities early on. Despite this, I always tried to stay open and sociable, playing with neighborhood kids and maintaining a few close friendships.

From a young age, I had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, always eager to explore new ideas and opportunities, even though some were… well, not so great. My interests were diverse—I had a passion for cars, a desire to travel, and a love for electronic dance music (EDM). In fact, for several years, I was a rave DJ, an exciting part of my life that allowed me to connect with people through music and shared experiences. Looking back, the rave community was also one of the most welcoming communities I could find. It lacked much of the negativity I faced elsewhere, which I think is what drew me in.
