Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicolette Williams.
Hi Nicolette, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to today?
I have been a licensed Cosmetologist since 2012, but when I discovered the Lash Extension Industry in 2017, I fell in love. I educated myself on everything lashes in all the different ways I could think of. I took certification courses and spoke to women who were already finding success in the industry with their Lash Businesses. I was inspired to start my own small business, which at the time was a little office in my home I turned into a Lash Suite. I took the leap of faith to open up Jersey Lashes right in the heart of downtown Holly Springs, and I couldn’t be happier! Once my family and I moved from New Jersey down here to North Carolina, I was presented with the opportunity to pursue my passion.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Navigating life as a wife and mother of 4 beautiful babies presents challenges. Also, Covid hit most small businesses hard. It was a tough time for many, including people in the beauty and service industries. I was pregnant with my daughter, but as soon as the restrictions were lifted, I was right back to lashing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Jersey Lashes is a Lash Studio located in the heart of downtown Holly Springs. I offer the luxury beauty service of Classic and Volume Eyelash Extensions. What sets me apart from others is that I genuinely care about every client I am fortunate enough to provide my services to. My goal is to ensure that everyone who trusts me with such an important part of themselves, the eyes, the window to the soul, leaves feeling better and even more beautiful than they came. I am most proud of my customer service. I was fortunate, throughout my career, to have worked in salons with people who truly cared about the people who came and supported their businesses and I took those lessons and made them a vital part of my own business. It’s not only about the money; it’s about really wanting to help make people, especially other women, feel happy and confident regardless of the life stressors they may be dealing with. I want people to feel recharged after leaving my chair. Whether it’s because they took a much-needed lash nap while receiving their beauty services or because they could talk and release some stress in a safe space, another thing that I take very seriously is continuing education and staying up to date on the latest techniques and safety measures. People are trusting me with their eyes, which is so important and should never be taken lightly.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
The thing I like most about our city is the opportunity for growth! I would love to see as many successful small businesses supporting each other! I feel like there is so much opportunity in this diverse city.
