Hi Olga, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The alteration and tailoring world has always been a huge fascination of mine. When I started my journey as a seamstress I got to work alongside many fabulous people like Michele Clapton – costume designer for the tv show Game of Thrones, along with many other amazing influences who helped shape my experiences. As an immigrant, this industry and owning my own business means so much to me and having my business for 8 years now has helped me build so many amazing connections with other successful business’s such as Gilded Bridal, David’s Bridal, The White of Raleigh, etc. While my skills allow me to tailor almost anything, my specialty is bridal wear. I have grown to love this industry and really appreciate the beauty of it all. It is my absolute honor to help make clients feel their most comfortable and beautiful selves while walking down the aisle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every road has its bumps and turns. In my line of work, its all about trial and error; seeing what works best for your company, building reliable clientele, establishing a good rapport with other local bridal boutiques, and making sure to have a steady team behind me that helps me along the way. Of course there are always struggles in any business but I’ve found that those struggles make for a better business; once you figure out how to solve them of course. In the tailoring world it is all about timing and precision, which most of our struggles revolve around those two.
We’ve been impressed with Helga’s Bridal Alteration, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Helga’s Bridal Alteration we specialize in bridal event gowns; including wedding dresses, veils, rehearsal dinner dresses, engagement dresses, or any other celebratory bridal event wear. Our services include individual tailoring – custom wedding dresses, to bridal alterations. We are most known for and most proud of our outstanding work on bridal gowns; its what we love to do most and its such a fun experience for all. We work with all kinds of wedding dresses ranging from simple fabrics to super detailed and intricate dresses; we love any and all dresses at Helga’s Bridal Alteration.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The satisfaction of our customers. This is most important to me and my business because without my clients, my business is nothing. My job is to meet the needs of these brides and make sure they are presented in the way they feel most beautiful on their wedding day.
