Meet Paxton Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paxton Taylor.

Paxton Taylor

Hi Paxton, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I like to say I fell into this field. I was always a creative kid, thinking I would follow in my mom’s footsteps, who went to school to be an interior designer. It was my sophomore year of high school, and I signed up to take a class called Digital Media; I remember the description of the class, including photography, so it had my attention. Fast forward to my senior year, I had a steady invitational business and worked for my dad’s company as his graphic designer. I graduated high school early and spent the extra time to focus on my craft before I started at my dream college… High Point University. Once I started there, I felt unstoppable; I was getting involved in art clubs and managed to attain an internship with Admissions. My four years there shaped me into the designer I am today. The experiences alone gave me the foundation to start my business straight out of college. Now I’m 26, and my business is almost 5 years old — Never in my wildest dreams would I this would be my path, but now I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and No. I always like to say, nothing worth having comes easy. When I say yes, it’s been smooth. It’s only because I love my career. It is my passion; I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. However, it’s been bumpy because being a creative and being a business owner are two different things. There are so many struggles. Recently, I downsized my from my physical studio that I had the opportunity to establish right out of college. I felt that my business shouldn’t be tied to a building but to what I create.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
