Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Phillips.
Hi Rob, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My wife purchased a home in 2012 as a first-time home buyer. I thought she was crazy. Her dad helped her renovate an outdated foreclosure. After I saw the finished product, I was hooked. I knew it was something I wanted to do again. We got married shortly after purchased another fixer-upper and rented the other home out. We starting investing into real estate as much as we could. This was my start into the world of real estate. I got my real estate license thinking it would be a way to find better deals on homes to purchase, but little did I know I would find my calling. The first couple of deals were challenging and made me question if I really wanted to be a realtor. I would go on to sell 58 homes my first full calendar year as a real estate agent. I transitioned into opening up my own brokerage in early 2021. A friend of mine from high school, Scott Walker, was the first agent to join me at my new firm. I was just starting out, and I’m forever thankful for his confidence in me. We now have 15 agents at The Firm NC, helping people buy, sell, invest across Eastern North Carolina.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, there are ups and downs. There are tons of things that can go wrong in real estate transactions. Covid was certainly one of those unforeseen challenges that we had to overcome. We meet people for a living, and when the world shuts down, and you can’t go out of the house, it got a little scary. So, we learned to do business virtually and adapt to change.

I own The Firm NC… A local real estate agency located in Goldsboro, NC. Locally owned and operated. We help buyers, sellers, investors in all of their real estate needs. Located minutes from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, all of our agents specialize in relocation. We have agents that also specialize in first-time home buyers, listings, and investment properties. When choosing the right agent for you, it is important to find someone who will listen and guide you based on your specific needs. You also need someone with the heart of a teacher that will let you know things even if it’s not something you want to hear. What matters most to you? Why?
Family. I have been blessed to be a son, brother, husband, and father of 2 girls. Both sides of my family live in Goldsboro, and their support and love means the world to me. This is reflected in my business at The Firm NC. We are like a family, and we treat our clients like family.
