Meet Ryan Polimeni of Polimeni Capital


Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Polimeni.
 

Hi Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in the financial services business in 2009 after graduating college. From 2009-2014 I predominantly sold life insurance door-to-door while growing my agency nationally to over 250 insurance agents. During that time, I learned important skills, leadership, sales, negotiation, money management, long-term thinking and the ability to create vision and direction for my company, and proper communication skills as a motivational speaker. In 2014 I left the insurance company I was with and started my own. This was the pursuit of advancing from just selling insurance to helping families and our clients with more advanced planning, such as tax planning, wealth management, income planning, and estate planning. Advancing our firm to this level of service allowed us to once again grow all over the country, with agents and advisors now in 13 states. During the growth of my firm, we have also branched out and built a very successful marketing company to help advisors meet with more families, a media company, a coaching and consulting company, and beginning to break into the world of private capital and acquisitions. Our goal in 2023 is to continue our rapid expansion across North Carolina and New England, and we will surpass $100,000,000 in sales for the first time. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have failed more time than I won. But our wins have surpassed our failures; we have always failed forward. No one in my family or circle of friends has any experience in the financial world. My 14-year career has been a series of figuring things out on my own. Trying things and seeing what works and makes sense for our team. I know what it’s like to work 100 hours a week and for everyone that week to tell you “No.” I have had people take advantage of what we offer which ended up costing me tens of thousands of dollars. It has not been a smooth road. Our last 3 years have been our best years. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Polimeni Capital, LLC is an investment firm that owns and operates 6 different portfolio companies. Our companies include a Wealth Management firm, Insurance agency, Tax practice, Marketing companies, Consulting companies, and 2 early stages Metaverse companies. Having the honor to have coached over 4,000 financial advisors and insurance agents over the last 5 years has allowed me to be one of the go-to experts in the industry. 

I am incredibly proud of the team we have assembled and continue to add to. Our brand would be nothing without them; as a company, your brand is everything, and I believe it starts with great people. Jim Collins in his book Good to Great talks about the who not what, and the importance of getting the right people on the bus and wrong ones off! 

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
This is really hard; I am a very transparent person.
