Meet Sam Opp of Find Love & Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Opp.

Hi Sam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a travel blogger and content creator. Back in 2018, feeling burnt out at my corporate marketing job in New York, I decided to convince my husband we should both quit our jobs to travel.

After months of convincing, we made the leap and that is when my travel blog Findloveandtravel.com was born. Since then, we relocated to Raleigh, NC at the end of 2019 and have been exploring North Carolina with our fur-baby, Marley.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but those bumps are what have brought me to where I am today. Running a travel blog and creating social media content did not come easy to me (even as a social media marketer)!

I have found that travel blogging is a long-term game, so if you are in it for just the money, you might be waiting years. It is something you really need to love, especially when curve balls such as covid are thrown your way.

Another challenge I know myself along with many other creatives face is about originality and content being copied. As a creative, I pour hours of time into my work, so it drives me crazy to see others basically copy my blog and photography content.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Find Love & Travel?
I create travel content with the goal of inspiring others to travel. Whether it be your own backyard or across the globe, I aim to help others have the best experiences while traveling.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I have found Facebook groups and taking courses that include communities have worked best for me. Additionally, I have made a lot of friends on Instagram within my industry.
