Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Brown.
Hi Shannon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Nearly 20 years ago, I began assisting an event planner with a wide range of events. Through that experience, I gained hands-on knowledge of the event industry—skills I didn’t realize I would one day turn into a calling. Over the years, I began planning, designing, and hosting events for family and friends. In 2019, God placed it on my heart to officially launch our brand, Brown’s Event Management. We’re a family-owned and operated business, proudly working side by side—my husband, our two daughters, and me—to deliver reliable, heartfelt event services. When you work with us, you’re treated like family.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has not always been smooth. Along the way, we have faced challenges such as budget constraints, last-minute changes, communication and boundary management, and both physical and mental exhaustion. Despite these obstacles, our passion for the event industry and our commitment to client satisfaction continue to drive us forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Brown’s Event Management offers a wide range of event services, including event planning and design, balloon installations, event hosting, event rentals, and event space accommodations. While we provide full-service support, we specialize in custom event design. What truly sets us apart is our passion for the craft and our unwavering commitment to excellence.
Our greatest accomplishment to date is the opening of Brown’s Event Center in Tarboro, North Carolina. We are willing to travel to meet our clients’ needs, and customer satisfaction remains our number one priority.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Tarboro is a small town, and I enjoy the small-town vibes and the sense of community. I dislike that the town has a high flooding risk due to the Tar River.
