Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Anderson, PA-C.
Hi Susan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career in medicine began over 20 years ago, and my mission has stayed the same: to help people live their fullest lives. After 15 years in radiology, I became a Physician Assistant to provide deeper, more direct care for those in need. I have a special heart for our inner-city and homebound neighbors who often feel forgotten by the healthcare system.
I am a firm believer in the power of prevention. My goal is to ensure that high-quality medical care is always within reach, which is why my practice offers urgent care access seven days a week to meet patients exactly when they need us most. I am dedicated to helping people achieve sustainable weight loss and assisting women in balancing their hormones to reclaim their energy and quality of life.
Ultimately, I’m here to provide the education and medical support you need to stay healthy, so you can get back to doing what you love with the people you love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it has been purposeful. The greatest hurdle was the “in-between” season—building The Healthy Place at night while working a full-time corporate medical job during the day. Balancing the needs of my husband and our three children while navigating a healthcare system that often prioritizes rigid metrics over patient connection was a heavy load. In that corporate world, I felt the constant friction of being told how to practice, which often meant treating patients like numbers on a clock rather than neighbors in need of real care.
What carried me through the late-night strategy sessions and early-morning charting was a vision of a different kind of medicine. I kept a mental picture of a practice where I could finally offer compassionate care—spending the time necessary to help a woman balance her hormones or guide a patient through a life-changing weight loss journey. Knowing that my children were watching me build a business based on my own values gave me the strength to push on..
We’ve been impressed with The Healthy Place, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Healthy Place is a virtual-first medical clinic dedicated to providing a different kind of healthcare experience—one that is built on genuine connection rather than corporate metrics.
We provide high-access, specialized care across North Carolina. Our core specialties include:
• Medical Weight Management: Utilizing evidence-based GLP-1 medications and personalized metabolic support.
• Women’s Hormone Therapy: Expert diagnosis and treatment for perimenopause and hormonal imbalances.
• Same-Day Urgent Care: Virtual support for acute needs, available every day of the week to fit into busy lives.
We want your readers to know that The Healthy Place is a resource for those who feel forgotten or ignored by the traditional system. We offer:
• Transparent Pricing: GLP-1 weight loss plans starting at $179, follow up visits included
• Accessibility: We handle the insurance paperwork when needed and accept HSA/FSA payments.
• Modern Tools: Every patient has access to a free mobile app for seamless progress tracking and anytime text access
Any big plans?
It has been an incredible season of growth for The Healthy Place. We recently expanded our services beyond North Carolina and Arizona to officially launch in Montana, and the response has been deeply rewarding. My focus for the future is to continue this momentum, identifying new states where patients are struggling to find high-quality, accessible care. We believe that everyone—regardless of their zip code—deserves the opportunity to partner with a medical provider who actually listens and offers solutions that fit their busy lives.
Looking ahead, my goal is to scale our reach while fiercely protecting the “small-practice feel”! We are constantly refining—to ensure that as we grow, the connection between patient and provider stays as strong and direct as ever.
