Meet Whitney Perkins of Morrisville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Perkins

Hi Whitney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2017, I started La Bél Aesthetics inside a nail salon in Durham, NC, while still working as a massage therapist and esthetician at another company. I knew I wanted to create something of my own, but choosing the right name was important to me. I wanted it to reflect beauty—not just in the physical sense, but in the way people see themselves. So many individuals walk through life unaware of their strength and the beauty they carry inside and out. That’s why I chose “La Bél,” which means “beautiful” in Haitian Creole. My goal is to inspire people to embrace their beauty, confidence, and self-worth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I started my business seven years ago, at a time when things were different—online booking was just emerging, and running a business felt a little simpler. But over the past few years, I’ve navigated a pandemic and what feels like a recession. Through it all, I’m incredibly grateful for my amazing clients, many of whom have become friends. Their support has been the reason I’ve made it through.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician and owner of La Bél Aesthetics. I created this company because of my love for skin and waxing. Through my own personal battle with hyperpigmenation and acne I want to help other people resolve their skin concerns and provide them with knowledge on how to prevent them and how to treat them at home. My specialty is hyperpigmentation and Brazilian waxing.

My main goal is to make sure everyone who enters my suite feel comfortable and confident with themselves both inside and out.

What’s next?
My plans for my business is to expand. I don’t want to give to too much information but I’m excited to see where I can go from here.
