Today we’d like to introduce you to Yuliia Streletska.
Hi Yuliia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my journey with a simple idea — to do my work with honesty and care. When I moved here, I didn’t have a big plan or resources, just my skills, experience, and a strong work ethic.
In the beginning, I focused on adapting, learning, and understanding the people around me. Through consistency and attention to detail, my work began to speak for itself. Clients returned, shared recommendations, and over time my practice grew into a business.
I truly love both the craft and the people I work with. I enjoy building long-term relationships and value having a calm, beautiful space where I can fully focus on quality and detail.
People are the most important part for me. I always try to give more than expected and continue improving my skills so that both my clients and I feel confident and satisfied with the results.
I’ve chosen a private, appointment-based way of working because it allows me to give each client the time and attention they deserve. This approach supports a thoughtful, personalized experience and helps me maintain a consistent level of quality.
Attention to detail and safety is a big part of my work. I follow very high hygiene standards and use carefully selected tools and disposable materials to ensure each client feels comfortable and cared for.
Today, I’m grateful to do work I love and to serve my local community. This journey has taught me patience, responsibility, and the value of building something with intention.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but the challenges were part of the growth. One of the biggest difficulties was starting from zero in a new environment — learning how things work, building trust, and understanding the expectations of a new community.
Like many small business owners, I had to be patient in the early stages. Building a client base takes time, consistency, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work that people don’t always see. There were moments of uncertainty, but I learned to focus on what I could control — my work, my standards, and the way I treated people.
These challenges helped me become more resilient and intentional. They pushed me to grow professionally, refine my approach, and stay committed to quality even when progress felt slow. Looking back, I see those moments as an important part of building something sustainable and meaningful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is built on precision, cleanliness, and structure. I specialize in e-file manicure, where the main focus is healthy skin, clean cuticle work, and clear, well-defined lines. For me, this foundation is essential — it’s the base of everything I do and the standard I hold myself to in everyday work.
Even when clients come primarily for natural or nude nails, I see this as a form of quiet artistry. Symmetry, balance, and proportion still matter. The result may look minimal, but it requires a high level of control, focus, and technical accuracy.
At the same time, creative expression is something I truly need. When I feel that I’m missing art in my daily routine, I turn to competitions as a way to fully explore my creative potential. These experiences allow me to work with complex forms, stronger concepts, and artistic ideas that go beyond everyday services.
I’ve been fortunate to place in competitions, which motivates me to continue developing my artistic side even further. Art is something that stays with me — sometimes ideas come to me unexpectedly, even in dreams — and that constant curiosity pushes me to keep learning, refining my skills, and challenging myself.
What sets me apart is this balance between discipline and creativity. I value clean work, structure, and calm precision, but I also believe that true craftsmanship grows when technique and artistic vision develop together.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me in different ways. Clients are always welcome to book an appointment and experience my work in person — for me, it’s important that each visit feels calm, thoughtful, and personal.
I’m also very open to collaboration. I love connecting with other small business owners, especially within the beauty industry and related fields. Creative partnerships, shared projects, and collaborative content are something I genuinely enjoy.
I’m active on Instagram, where I share my work and creative process, and I always enjoy creating light, fun, and authentic content together with others. If someone feels aligned or has an idea in mind, I’m always happy to start a conversation.
I believe that supporting one another, sharing experiences, and growing together is one of the most meaningful parts of building a small business and a creative community.
