Meet Zelossie Whitted of QAV Global

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zelossie Whitted

Hi Zelossie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I was a little girl I would be in my grandfathers cafe. He had the best fish in all of Poughkeepsie, caught fresh and prepped by him. You can ask anyone from my hometown from around that time and they will tell you. I was referred, in my previous role as Events Director, by a friend, to which I am extremely grateful. It came from years of hard work and consistent dedication, working in hospitality since I was 14 years old. But, I guess it’s always been apart of my life. Just like my work, growth, and connections in the TV/Film industry. Growing up, I was always creating something; a painting, a poem, a sculpture, a play, conceptualizing my ideas to reality. Drama, dance, and art were my hobbies up until I graduated high school. Television/Film are a deep love of mine and those hobbies fueled it. A year and a half ago I obtained my project management certification, where I now utilize these passions with my expertise in my current role as the Project Business Development Manager at QAV Global, a global production agency.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely not a smooth road but whats that quote, “All roads lead to where you are now”. As someone who has expanded into various fields due to my extreme curiosity and love of learning new things, there have been many struggles with just deciding what to commit to long term. I wanted to do everything and often felt I was sacrificing one part of myself. Project management kind of saved me. It encompasses all that I feel inclined to, while allowing ample ways to utilize my expertise and express those passions.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a global live and virtual events production agency, achieving successful outcomes through a creative combination of our in-house services, which includes everything from event/client management, exhibition/set design, video production, live webcasting, etc. Our agency is shaped by an amazing team that specializes in everything needed to produce a successful event.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that this is a growing city, and it does not seem to be overly saturated. I dislike the lack of great food options. I think there is a lot of the same restaurants opening and it seems very mediocre. Also, too many breweries and not enough sophisticated places to grab a drink, or a bite, and just vibe out. The frat boy, wild girl vibes are too rampant. The prices of services (nails, wax, events) do not match the quality of service being offered. Still looking for those places that will blow me away and are “worth” it.
